Nathan Klinge is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation (MSAAD, ’10) where he was a recipient of the William Kinne Traveling Fellowship and Funaro Scholarship. Prior to completing his graduate studies, Nathan worked for several years in central Iowa where he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University in 2007. Before joining von Weise Associates in 2010 Klinge began his career in Des Moines, Iowa with Architects Schipper Kastner.
In 2008, Klinge was presented with the American Institute of Architects Emerging Architect’s Award from the Iowa chapter. His work has been exhibited in Iowa, New York and Philadelphia and has received local, regional and national recognition through awards and publications.
Understanding that space is activated by its tenant, he believes architecture should respond and reciprocate to the user’s needs through a careful synthesis of craft and innovation.
